In fact, the keys are in my pocket as I type this. Forgive me if this is a short blog post, I'm itching to get on the road. Here's the deal. The car is a PT2 unit, as in pre-production. And it's right off of Nissan's Arizona proving grounds. Nissan engineer Bruce Robinson drove it west from that facility yesterday. According to him the car runs great but has a tendency to drool a little fuel down the side of the car when you fill it up. He also said we should invest in a case of octane booster. "We recommend 93, but it'll run on 91," he said. "I'd stop and get a few bottles." And we will. We officially leave Los Angeles for the Inside Line Ultimate GT-R Road Trip early tomorrow morning, so check back and follow along as we drive this all-wheel drive supercar 3,000 miles in three days. First day's destination? Well, we plan on hitting the El Mirage drylake for some top end runs. Then we'll turn north and find our way to Sacramento Dragway for a Wednesday night of grudge match drag racing. We hope to get there about 5 pm. it certainly is more expensive. the GTR in the states is going for between $80k and $120k so once dealer quit gouging it will be more comparable to the z06. i cant wait for the v-spec to be released to see what it will do.

it also beats your pockets. The ZR1 is $30,000 more that n GTR. I would expect it to perform better. The GTR is competition for the Z06 though.

the GTR transmission snapped on the flats... the edmunds boys had to tow this car behind a ZR1 to get it home... the ZR1 still managed to pull 11's in the 1/4 mile even dragging this nissan bucket of bolts. USA!

There is NOTHING wrong with the GT-Rs transmission. This is a rumor started by GM fanboys.

lol the ultimate road trip would be in a C6 ZR1 since it beats the GTR around the ring by a few seconds with 2 wheel drive and leaf springs.....so much for Nissan's "technology"
