running on gsm. unfortunatly gmails imap is really buggy and doesn't support imap-idle wich is reuqired for push-email.

are you running it on wcdma or gsm? i'm trying to get it to work with gmail's imap, but nothing gets pushed. i have to set up those timed checks for it to work (minimum is 5 minutes).
