Actually it was "Betrayed", made the following year, that concluded Clark Gable's contract with MGM.

I saw most of this movie in TCM, what happened? I know he slept with her and then he had a thing for Kelly. What happened he chose Ava? Or did he go for her after Kelly dumped him?

Gable had a conversation with Kelly's husband about their life and such blah, blah, blah and he realized he couldn't break the man's heart, so he put on a show with Ava in front of Kelly and Kelly shot him and her husband thinking Gable made a pass at her forgives and they go back to England togther THE END!

Looks like Kelly changed her mind about seeing Father Joseph !
