He must have been really heavy to use that much runway. The GE TF-39's were the first high bypass turbo fans ever built. not bad for the first of their design, though they are way overdue for replacement, I wish they would have chosen the GE90's instead of the CF60 C2's. Much better engine and fully upgradeable. They are still breaking thrust records today.
