You're wrong. Frost Parkinson are possibly the two finest interviewers that have come out of the UK in the last 50-odd years, so Ross would definitely want to be seen as up there with them. In fact, he would just want to be seen as being up there with David Letterman, seeing as he simply doesn't have Letterman's global fame and recognition.

Johnathan Ross is way better than Letterman. Letterman is a piece of shit who has no humor and is really boring and retarded. What makes Ross so funny is that he's from the UK, and apparently they can get away with a lot more shit.
