2. This is a monochrome, this no availbe in DOS

Well, in linux we have "so" instead of "dll" :P and I think it could also be implemented with library injection, but it's easier to take advantage of the accessible source code xD

I've never switch to linux but I think its cool quake release the source code so it will run on linux ! :D

I use Gentoo Linux so I got them from its ebuild: games-fps/quake2-icculus
However, in the project page (_ttp://icculus..org/quake2/) you can download the binaries and the source code.
And IIRC, you must have an original Quake2 CD with the data packages.
