2008 Jaguar XJ at Geneva by Edmunds' Inside Line

There was a lunar grey 2008 Jaguar Super V8 at my local auto show today. I am a huge BMW fan (I have a 530i) and I appreciate the technology that the Germans put in to their cars but I have to say that this Jag had style and class that couldn't be beat.

This is 'real' class in comparison to its over the top German competitors, there is a fine line between what's required and what is a gimmick. (i.drive, nightvision etc.) This defines character, which cannot be said for the newer generation cars, plain dashboards, futuristic dials etc.

This is a unique vehicle that does not follow the crowd or continuously re-invent itself to sell. In my personal view put this beside any of its competitors be it in the 70's, 80's, 90's and even today this car wins hands down aesthetic wise. Like many, Edmunds are blinded solely by the brand name, I am not biased, only the new 96+ Mercedes s-class can compete amongst jaguar XJ.

Jaguars have ALWAYS been hot. I've been hooked to Jags ever since I saw them in that Whitesnake video. "And here I go again on my own!..." yeah! Glam rock!

I think edmunds is a Bit bias They say the older Jag is ugly But compared to a MB or Bmw it looks down right amazing Yeah the looks are old fashioned but the looks are great Jags are for people who dont run with the crowd Jags are for people who have some guts and wanna be seen as stylish and smart

the car has not been launched yet! ;-) liar!!! they said, that we'll get it in november ... but we are still waiting. we've got the chance to fly to birmingham, there we could see the production, we flow with a private jet from zurich and then we ate in a castle!
