Six Million Dollar Man & Bionic Woman DVD commercial spot V1

I bought the Aussie released dvds in Sydney, includes the clasics like "Day of the Robot", "Return of the Robot maker", "The Seven Million dollar man", and "The Secret of Bigfoot". They're great! I have no problems with it despite being in an NTSC region 3 country, most DVD players are now multi-system multi-region, and most monitors are now multi-system just as well.

The reason why SMDM and TBW can be released in Europe is based on European copyright laws that are different than the US. In the US, a franchise must pay the person who had the original idea. Paramount has this problem with Star Trek in that they have to pay the estate of Gene Roddenberry everytime the name Star Trek appears in a series' name. In Europe, the laws are different. The Europeans want to see shows from abroad and pay the source i.e. the Studio/production company not the writer.

Martin Caidin wrote the original book - gee, you'd figure he or his family (whomever would be getting the money) would be happy to rush to get it onto DVD, even if for that reason - getting the money from the rights. Here's hoping they get the rights probelm settled for us here in the USA. Has anyone heard anything about Canada?

I would think the same. But here is another issue. Lindsay Wagner original contract with Universial stated that she was to get about 11% of all royalties on Bionic Woman products. Lee Majors didn't have such a contract and acutally got paid less than Wagner. Thus, the reason Major disliked Wagner. With all these problems, one can see why the studio is dragging their feet! They would have to actuall pay people involved with the show!

Yes!! I am so happy to read that ther are people who love,appeciate and admire the REAL STUFF!!! I say we storm the gate's of Universal and bodily remove the CEO! Then we all will head to the "vault's", where lay's all the treasure's and make the security guards hand over SMDM and others then WE will release them to a quality T.V.deprived culture!!!

That way you can make sure it is uncut and the closing logo is not blacked out unlike shows like "Night Gallery".

I agree with you,rickbeezer34. I have been waiting a LOOOOoNNNNGGG time for this to come out. I even emailed Universal for info,but got no answer. You know it's bad when you can find almost EVERY other TV show out there and not the Six Million Dollar Man ! Even shows that recently shown on Tv last year! I hope they resolve this license issue soon.
