The "too expensive to have Pegasus sets" excuse was BULLSHIT. How can they say that and have the sets right back for BSG:Razor right after? This show might have been better if they retrieved more battleships. More potential for action right there!

The whole purpose of them only having the Battlestar Galactica (And losing the Pegasus) is to give it a feel of desperation. Where they are fighting against all odds and striving. Even while they have spies infiltrating them, internal politics, and even religious issues. The thing is, if they did bring in more Battlestars then the story would be swiss cheese due to the plot holes and ruin the atmosphere they had throughout the series.

Perhaps I should have said more warships, rather than just Battlestars. Maybe the Pegasus, Galactica, and two smaller escort cruisers named Castor and Pollux would have been the way I'd have done it. Enough of a fighting force to create tension as to who's in control, and gives plenty of opportunities for drama and, of course, more space battles. I'll send you an interesting link arguing for the survival of Battlestar Pegasus.

the show is mainly about the characters and the stuff going on to them. Its a drama, not an action show..unfortunately

It is much more than that also. If you really pay attention and listen to what everyone has to say, the humans and Cylons, you'll find a very deep meaning. By the way, the mod looks awesome.

The show is not about action. It's about humanity being lost, near extinction, on the search for a new home. The fact that there's only one Battlestar makes it all way more exciting. BSG would be an average show if there were 20 Battlestars left. It's all about survival, about finding a new home, and not about a full-frontal war against the Cylons. Also, the scene when Pegasus was destroyed was so... beautiful.
