Description :	Národní muzeum (NM) je přední česká muzejní instituce. Někdy se tento termín používá i pro její hlavní budovu na Václavském náměstí na Praze 1. Muzeum bylo založeno roku 1818 pod názvem Vlastenecké muzeum v Čechách. Od roku 1848 neslo název České muzeum, v období let 1854--1919 pak Muzeum Království českého. Před postavením nové budovy muzeum sídlilo provizorně ve Šternberském (1821--1846) a Nostickém paláci (1846--1892). Novorenesanční stavba od projektanta Josefa Schulze s centrálním prostorem Panteonu a výzdobou od umělců generace Národního divadla pochází z let 1885--1890 a tvoří dominantu celého Václavského náměstí. Projekt kladl důraz především na monumentalitu, zčásti na úkor funkčnosti. V roce 1968 byla jeho přední fasáda poškozena střelami sovětské armády, ohroženo bylo rovněž i během výstavby pražského metra v první polovině 70. let minulého století (při výstavbě vestibulu stanice Muzeum došlo k poničení některých stěn, vestibul musel být lépe vyztužen). Budova nebyla nikdy celkově rekonstruována, na začátku 21. století je tak již ve velmi špatném stavu[1]. V roce 2006 byla muzeu přislíbena budova bývalého Federálního shromáždění[2]. **************************************** ****************************** The National museum (Czech: Národní muzeum) is a Czech museum institution intended to systematically establish, prepare and publicly exhibit natural scientific and historical collections. It was founded 1818 in Prague by Kašpar Maria Šternberk. Historian František Palacký was also strongly involved. At present the National Museum shelters almost 14 million items from the area of natural history, history, arts, music and librarianship, located in tens of buildings. The founding of the National Museum should be seen in the context of the times, where after the French Revolution, royal and private collections of art, science, and culture were being made available to the public. The beginnings of the museum can be seen as far back as 1796, when the private Society of Patriotic Friends of the Arts was founded by Count Casper Sternberk-Manderschied and a group of other prominent nobles. The avowed purpose of the society was "the renewed promotion of art and taste", and during the time of Joseph II, it would be adamantly opposed to the King. In 1800 the group founded the Academy of Fine Arts, which would train students in progressive forms of art and history. ******************************************** El Museo nacional (en checo: Národní muzeum) es uno de los principales museos de Praga. Ocupa un edificio neorrenacentista situado en lo alto de la plaza de Wenceslao, la principal de la ciudad. Su vestíbulo central sirve también de panteón de los grandes checos. ******************************************** Národní muzeum ist das führende Museum in Tschechien. Dieser Terminus wird auch für das Hauptgebäude am Wenzelsplatz benutzt. Das Museum wurde 1818 als Vlastenecké muzeum v Čechách (Nationales Museum in Böhmen) gegründet. Seit 1848 trug es den Namen České muzeum (Tschechisches Museum), in den Jahren 1854 -- 1919 Muzeum Království českého (Museum des Königreichs Böhmen). Vor dem Neubau wurde der Sitz eine Zeit lang in den Sternberger Palais (1821 -- 1846) und den Nostitz-Palais verlegt. Angefangen hat alles mit Sammlungen böhmischer Aristokraten. Einige der patriotisch gesinnten Adeligen, unter Führung des Gelehrten Paläontologen Graf Kaspar Maria von Sternberg, unterschrieben am 15. April 1818 einen Aufruf zur Gründung eines Museums, dessen Bau 1820 von der Wiener Regierung befürwortet wurde. Die neu entstandene Gesellschaft des nationalen Museum in Böhmen, als Eigentümerin und Verwalterin der Sammlungen, organisierte auch die gesamte Abwicklung aller Aufgaben. Erster Vorsitzender wurde Graf Sternberg. Eigentümerin blieb die Gesellschaft bis 1934, danach wurde die Verwaltung und das Eigentum verstaatlicht. Das Museum beteiligt sich am Portal euromuse.net.
