Montage of the 1953 coronation service
Queen Elizabeth II is the Monarch of 16 independent countries and the Head of the Commonwealth of 54 nations across the globe- an absolutely astonishing fact in this age of separatism and a massive worldwide symbol of unity and association which can only be achieved by a monarch -- can you imagine all these nations agreeing on an appointed let alone elected symbol? |

A personal tribute to Queen Elizabeth II (born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, 21 April 1926).
I'm from Singapore, a former British Crown Colony until 1959, it's a pity I couldn't have the Queen as my monarch, because I'm only 21. How i wish I was born much earlier!
To all folks out there: Cherish your noble Queen, she's the quintessential monarch of the 21st century!
Long live the Queen!! Long may she reign!! |

"Britain will never become a modern democracy, nor will it be possible to create a more meritocratic and inclusive society, as long as we languish uner the burden of an unelected and archaic monarchy." - quote from a republican. The words archaic and feudal are applied to our monarchy to make it sound out-of-date and anachronistic, not taking into account how the monarchy has evolved and developed over the centuries and the major modernisation and reform taking place and envisaged at present. |

Queen Elizabeth II, The Christmas Broadcast 1957 and 2007
This year's 'Queen's Speech', first broadcast on Christmas Day 2007. Her Majesty speaks of the importance of friends and family and remembers of the members of the Armed Forces.
The Christmas Broadcast or 'Queen's Speech' for 2007 appeared on yourtube channel at approximately 3pm GMT on Christmas Day. Back to 50 years, the Queen's 1957 Christmas Broadcast was an historic event, as it was the first to be televised. It was also the 25th anniversary of the first Christmas Broadcast on the radio.
Here, on world2020channel you can listen two speeches together. See what is changed in the world after 50 years, and what remains constant. In this vortex of words, combined together, listen what you want to listen and see what you want to see.

Here is just a simple pictorial presentation of the life of our Queen, Elizabeth II. I've tried to take you on a journey from her birth in 1926, to present day in the early 21st Century.
I hope you enjoy this video, and respect the commitment Her Majesty has given to Britain and the Commonwealth. Whether you support our ancient Monarchy or not, anyone must see the remarkable commitment she has given.

A detailed re-enactment of The Queen's Coronation, called The Children's Coronation, took place on 3rd June 2002 in Cornwall, as the principal event in the Jubilee celebrations of the Parish of St Just in Roseland. It was performed on the Quay in St Mawes by nine and ten year old children from St Mawes School, together with a few adults.
Villagers created a 2.5m tall golden Coronation Coach, to be pulled by members of the Gig Club, a Coronation Chair, authentic dresses, robes and regalia and principal items of the Crown Jewels. Royal approval was later received by letter from HM The Queen and in a visit from HRH the Duke of Cornwall. |

No apologies for showing this as a moment when I and millions of others felt so proud to be British. Buckingham Palace and Green Park come alive with music, pictures and fireworks to celebrate 50 years of Elizabeth II's reign. I must admit my favourite moment comes after about 3:30 of this clip when you hear the climax of Benjamin Britten's piece 'Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra' (itself based on a theme by Purcell)- guaranteed to get the hairs on the back of your neck on end |

On April 5th 1954, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, stepped ashore the Cocos Islands.
John Mee, an employee of the Shell Oil Company based there to refuel passing aeroplanes, captured the day on his new 8mm video camera.
Includes close-ups of the royal couple, the venue, local reception, and the garden party, the royal yacht "Gothic", and the Royal Air Force escort.
Extraordinarily rare footage. Perhaps the only in existence? |
