This is a shameless pro-war commercial by Freedom's Watch http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Freedom%27s_Watch, a White House front group of "prominent conservatives with a pro-Israel agenda masquerading as a grassroots movement." This is just one of the commercials where they use disabled vets to voice the White House's desire to continue the war, and create more permanently disabled and multiple-amputee soldiers, like this spokesman. This commercial is particularly disturbing in that they continue the hoary tactic of tying Iraq to 9/11 in order to sustain public support for the Iraq war.
Intro & outro is of Senator Byron Dorgan speaking on the Senate floor September 5th, 2007 from C-SPAN2.
NOTE: Freedom's Watch is basically a continuation of the now defunct Project for a New American Century, but try to appear as if they're a civilian special interest group. FW was formed just two weeks prior to the airing of this ad campaign with a goal "to ensure a strong national defense and a powerful effort to confront and defeat global terrorism." |

For this second attempt I had my own account back, so I put together a video showing the activity I enjoy most in the game: Giant Monster hunting!
This video took seven hours to put together, about four of them spent looking for giant monsters and for people to take them down, two editing, one looking for a music track that didn't suck from COH's collection.
No demo editing. Everything was captured in-game, using the /disable2d command to switch the user interface off. |

This is the rare song that plays during the Captain Morgan Spiced Rum commercials back in 2005. It sounds classical, like it's for a movie or something. People make the captain morgan pose while doing cool things, I guess. Anyway, it was written by Larry Hochman and just written as a generic music library piece. It has been used in Captain Morgan commercials, Hummer commercials, an FSN piece about the Yankees, and I saw it the other day on The Colbert Report for about 30 seconds.

My game account is expired and I used a friends' to capture source video, which limited what I could actually do in there, and because of this my own characters don't appear anywhere. Plus I can't play his characters very well, so I mostly just captured NPC action, and I'm not very happy with it.
I'll be making another attempt when I manage to reactivate my account, which most likely won't be this week as I'm really really busy; I missed a whole night of sleep to make this and I have to go to work in two hours! |

In Japan, Boogiepop novel publisher MediaWorks produced a series of commercials to help promote the release of several of the novels in Kouhei Kadono's unforgettable series. Much like Boogiepop himself, these commercials have become the stuff of urban legend. Featuring fully animated short clip sequences pulled directly from the novels and using Kouji Ogata's own character designs, each commercial is a visually eye-catching tour de force that surpasses the animation seen in Boogiepop Phantom. To quote issue 85 of Anime News Network's Protoculture Addicts, "These ads never made it across the Pacific with either [the anime] Boogiepop Phantom or [the movie] Boogiepop and Others, and probably never will." SolarDave: How much of your business is residential verses commercial?
Cary Hayes: Colorado about 70 to 80 percent is residential and another 20 or so % would be small commercial and medium commercial.
The commercial program in Colorado has been slow to take hold for a variety of reasons. One has been some uncertainties with the rebate program there.
Xcel rebate program is divided in to three catagories:
1. 0-10KW residential program $4.50 watt
2. 10KW to 100KW is that medium commercial level, $2 watt up front rebate, but then pays 11.5 cent per kilo watt hour for the production of the system for 20 years. That is pretty interesting. We are excited to be doing a couple of products in that category right now.
3. 100KW to 2 Mega Watts (SolarDave - "power station") large commercial. This is done by RFI (request for proposal) basically come out twice a year, such as the Colorado Convention Center downtown, 1.8MW facility in Belmar neighborhood in Denver with a carport thing. Also 1-2MW at DIA (Denver International Airport) that is going in.
The medium to large system are financed through what is called a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) which is basically a financing mechanism to pay for the system without the host customer paying anything.
For example one of the projects that we are involved in has a PPA and the host customer pays nothing up front for the system at all. Except they pay for the Kilo Watt hours that the system produces. So a large financing bank such as Morgan Stanley, Merrel Lynch, Citi Group, Goldman Sachs comes in and funds the project and the host customer pays up front costs, they just put solar panels on the building and then they pay that 3rd party that financed the system a flat rate of electricity the building generated for the system.
The benefits of the host customer are that it fixes the cost of power. So they now know what they are going to pay for power this year for the next 20 years with a built in escalator typically.
So CPA love that so they are given the visibility of what their costs are going to be when the energy costs are so uncertain, so it is a good win for them. |
