We live right next to the manatees' winter home on the Crystal River in Florida. It's cool because they come up to us when we're swimming or snorkeling. Manatees love people, but people are actually their greatest threat. Speedboats often hit the creatures and the propeller blades hurt them. Researchers can identify the manatees using these scars. Now that we can tell the manatees apart, we want to know if these are the same manatees we saw last year? |

To see a Manatee up close, you must visit this place during thier wintering months (see below information from the State Park Site).
"The largest spring on the St. Johns River, Blue Spring is a designated Manatee Refuge and the winter home (mid-November through March) to a growing population of West Indian Manatees. For centuries, the spring area was home for Native Americans. In 1766 it was visited by Colonial American botanist John Bartram, but it wasn´t until 1856 that it was settled by Louis Thursby and his family. The Thursby house, built in 1872, remains standing. The spring´s crystal clear, 73 degree water can be enjoyed by swimmers, snorkelers, and certified scuba divers with a partner. Swimming or diving with manatees is not permitted and is strictly enforced. The river is popular for fishing, canoeing, and boating." |

This was our lighting lab group, we lit up the set in low contrast. Literally 30 seconds before lab we came up with this skit. Its 95% improved. Its funny and I like it. Justo and I play eight year old kids who have a lemonade stand to save the gay manatees. Its not edited so there are some mess ups. It was just a good time. |
