Chorus in Henry V sets the scene.
Let me know what you think.
Chorus:
Now entertain conjecture of a time
When creeping murmur and the poring dark
Fills the wide vessel of the universe.
From camp to camp, through the foul womb of night,
The hum of either army stilly sounds,
That the fix'd sentinels almost receive
The secret whispers of each other's watch.
Fire answers fire, and through their paly flames
Each battle sees the other's umber'd face;
Steed threatens steed, in high and boastful neighs
Piercing the night's dull ear; and from the tents
The armourers accomplishing the knights,
With busy hammers closing rivets up,
Give dreadful note of preparation.
The country cocks do crow, the clocks do ton,
And the third hour of drowsy morning name.
Proud of their numbers and secure in soul,
The confident and over-lusty French
Do the low-rated English play at dice;
And chide the cripple tardy-gaited night
Who like a foul and ugly witch doth limp
So tediously away. The poor condemned English,
Like sacrifices, by their watchful fires
Sit patiently and inly ruminate
The morning's danger; and their gesture sad
Investing lank-lean cheeks and war-worn coats
Presenteth them unto the gazing moon
So many horrid ghosts. O, now, who will behold
The royal captain of this ruin'd band
Walking from watch to watch, from tent to tent,
Let him cry 'Praise and glory on his head!'
For forth he goes and visits all his host;
Bids them good morrow with a modest smile,
And calls them brothers, friends, and countrymen.
Upon his royal face there is no note
How dread an army hath enrounded him;
Nor doth he dedicate one jot of colour
Unto the weary and all-watched night;
But freshly looks, and over-bears attaint
With cheerful semblance and sweet majesty;
That every wretch, pining and pale before,
Beholding him, plucks comfort from his looks;
A largess universal, like the sun,
His liberal eye doth give to every one,
Thawing cold fear, that mean and gentle all
Behold, as may unworthiness define,
A little touch of Harry in the night.
And so our scene must to the battle fly;
Where- O for pity!- we shall much disgrace
With four or five most vile and ragged foils,
Right ill-dispos'd in brawl ridiculous,
The name of Agincourt. Yet sit and see,
Minding true things by what their mock'ries be. |

There Was a Little Girl
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
read by Murray Lachlan Young
There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very very good ,
,
But when she was bad
she was horrid.

There was Royalty in the Square tonight. Some of it was on screen -- the film is about the sister Henry the V111 first sister-in-law Mary. Some of it was film royalty. Scarlett Johansson is pretty much Hollywood royalty these days. Some of it was the real deal. Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla graced the occasion just before the film was about to start and Charles even gave us a wave fan-side. It was a crazy night at the barricade. Twelve hours of waiting around in the freezing cold. When's it going to get warm again? It's been horrid for fans for 5 months now. Still it's great to be able to enjoy the melee front row with the crazy ones screaming for the attention of the notables, because there was Royalty about, there was a wide exclusion zone and it was much harder than usual to get in / out and impossible to shake it all about. No matter, there was plenty of signing and posing from those we managed to call over. Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman both wore delectable dresses and Eric Bana, Benedict Cumberbatch and the rest of the male cast were tuxedoed and scrubbed up really well to be presented to their highnesses prior to the start of the movie. Fans from all over the world as usual were there to add to the frenzy. There were the usual suspects calling out to make sure we got the stars attention. Six young ladies from USA kept fan-side alive with whooping and a hollering. A good night and some great footage. Enjoy...

Well, I think this proves one thing (one?! Try several!) about me... I have an incredibly over-active imagination! That and the fact that I've probably seen WAAAY too many movies!
I designed the video to (loosely) break up the basics of the Halloween party; receiving invites, RSVPing, choosing a costume, guests arriving, introductions, greetings/pleasantries, food & drinks, dancing, and guests leaving. In a nut shell, I wanted an ad to get you excited about my Halloween party!
The best part of making this (apart from having a great perve on Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones!) was the Mr Darcy (Pride & Prejudice) and Risky Business scene, it cracked me up! Also, the Love Actually dance scene -- it's the closest I've seen to me bopping around the house.
The hardest part was putting in the Titanic 'Come back' scene. It doesn't sit right with me that I seem to be taking the piss out of the greatest maritime disaster in history, but, that's not my intention at all and it is after all a line from a movie.
The worst part was going through the Poltergeist clips... my God; it was bad enough watching Henry Cain, but then I saw that bloody evil clown! God I hate that thing! I hate all clowns thanks to that horrid little thing with its grin, belled shoes, frizzy hair, laugh and extending arms...UGH! I know that I've included Pennywise in this, but to me, he shows me what all clowns are capable of -- deep down inside they're all evil, mark my words.
While I tried looking for the best quality clips, some aren't as good a quality as others and some have watermarks on them. I'm not too sure what happened to the Willy Wonka 'laugh' scene or the Tangina 'tell me what you feel' scene. The clips were fine when I downloaded them and if I played them as single clips while editing the movie, but when playing back the entire project, they went black and white and slanted. Nevertheless, I decided to leave them in all the same. The Han Solo 'gorgeous guy' scene was always black and white; I couldn't find a colour copy of it anywhere.
The scenes that don't appear to have been edited properly are; Jaws 'show me the way to go home' and Han Solo 'gorgeous guy'. Jaws has footage of the Orca (the boat) being hit by Bruce (the shark) and Han's scene has C-3PO looking at Han. I couldn't cut out the extras otherwise the audio would have been cut off prematurely.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with myself. I've managed to include clips from my most fav movies -- Star Wars and Spielberg's films (E.T, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Jurassic Park and Poltergeist). Also got music from John Williams (Jaws theme) and added some of my fav characters; Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Sweeney Todd and Captain Jack Sparrow. Didn't manage to get anything with Tom Hanks in though.
Finally, the list of movies and one TV show (audio & visual) included in this video are:
24
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
Austin Powers in Goldmember
Batman
Beetlejuice
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I'd like to thank the following people for helping me out with this project:
Dad -- For getting me to download the editing program ULead. It was so much quicker and neater using this program compared to Movie Marker.
Karolina -- For helping me find a program (Movavi) that converted MP4 files to AVI files.
Tjoppy -- For teaching me how to save any movie clips from the net. Without your help, I'd only have an idea stuck in my head.
I do not own any of the clips or music they are the rightful property of the studios/writers/directors/producers/conductors. |
