This is FMV cutscene which is presented just before the main Mogadishu mission (it led to Black Hawk Down events) during which the U.S. troops were after warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid to secure resumption of humanitarian operations that was threatened by Habar Gedir clan of general Aidid.
In October 1993 this escalated into serious urban warfare engagements with 18 casulties on U.S. side and more than a thousand on Somalian. As it was later revealed there were Al-kaida aides present causing Aidid's forces to be much more dangerous and battle prepared.
Codename for the operation start was "Irene".
We are supporting our U.S. allies and honouring all U.N. side soldiers who lost lives during operation RESTORE HOPE. Thanks |

I am uploading my first youtube video - It is an atmospheric introduction to NOVALOGIC's Action shooter. Although it was more of an pure-action than tactical kind of military game I liked its aproach and finished it back in 2003 when it was released. I also bought the datadisc TEAM SABRE last year for 2USD in a clearance sale. This added campaigns in South America and Iran to the original Somalia operation.
Nice music and military feeling are main assets of this video. And one more thing - I also have a special relationship to this game because I was reviewing this game for Czech TV and appeared on national broadcast - I sucked but that's another story :-).

This is a FMV you can see after completing the Somalian campaign. It points out that the U.S. withdrawal from Somalia by the order of president Clinton could be assessed as controversial - We had casulties but we did a lot of good and improved the situation in Somalia and have not finished our mission.
Whatsmore Somalia was again thrown into chaos and stil remains a country without a legitimate government even now. It also boosted morale of terorists and anti-american powers later operating from Somalia on activities like Kenya embassy bombing or USS Cole attack. It also influenced the 9/11 terrorists.

This is my second vid of my brother playing Delta Force Black Hawk Down for the PS2 online. This is part one of three.
As you can see, he starts out doing badly, but ends up in second place at the end of the game with 53 kills and 34 deaths.
This vid also shows off the lag a little better than my previous vid.
I was actually playing in this one, but I was having an off game and only ended up in fifth place with 40 kills, and 24 deaths. |
