Area 51 is the only action-packed 1st person shooter set in the U.S. governments most secret and secure military facility. The U.S. Army has received a distress signal from Area 51 where a viral outbreak has just shut down the research facility and the automated quarantine procedures have locked all scientific and military personnel inside.
A small Special Forces unit led Specialist Ethan Cole of HAZMAT (hazardous materials) Division is sent to investigate. As Cole, players will delve into five massive levels within the confines of Area 51, discover a mutagenic side effect of the virus that controls the minds of those infected, as well as an ancient alien colony buried beneath the facility. With a multitude of human and alien weapons, players must explore chilling conspiracies such as the extraterrestrial crash at Roswell and the faked lunar landing, in order to solve the enigmas of Area 51 before the viral mutagen is released and irrevocably mutates all life on earth.

Set in present day, players take the role of a decorated military veteran charged by the government to lead a squadron of "secret soldiers," each with his/her own specialty skill set, into the Rachel, Nevada area to fight off the invasion of unidentified enemy races. The player's modern-day emotions and fears are driven into a world charged with grave responsibility affecting lives hanging in the balance and eventually finding himself torn between his professional orders and his own ethical standards. In the end, only the actions of the player and his squad can shape the outcome of BlackSite: Area 51 during this potentially pivotal moment in history.

The AREA 51 series first began as a light gun-based arcade shooter game, and now Midway has brought the series to the Pc Games as a first person shooter along the lines of HALO and DOOM. The game revolves around HAZMAT operative Ethan Cole, who has been summoned to Area 51 to discover the source of a deadly virile outbreak. He soon discovers that the staff of the secret alien research base has mutated into deadly, dangerous enemies. Even worse, Ethan himself quickly becomes infected. While the game is a fairly straight-forward first person shooter involving blasting everything that moves while searching for keys, secret codes, and other clues, it does have some interesting twists. Once Ethan becomes infected with the virus, he gains the ability to mutate into a stronger form complete with two ranged attacks. The visuals also change, taking on an almost infra-red interface. Once the single-player missions are finished, AREA 51 offers gamers a multiplayer mode that accommodates up to 16 players. Several different options are available, including deathmatch, capture the flag, and infection, in which players can play as mutants and attempt to infect the human players. There are also unlockable secrets that can be found by scanning objects, , computer workstations, and corpses. While AREA 51 has been absent from the arcade for awhile, first person shooter fans will immediately latch on to its Pc Games version. Fans of THE X-FILES should also check it out to hear star David Duchovny voice Ethan Cole. |

This is a second video of Area 51 from me. Because the first one sucked so much.. I hope you see, that the game is total waste of time.
Sorry for no-sound. Somehow my fraps didn't get it on tape, but sound was very realistic, thanks to my 'Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer' - no! for real! The sound was sick. I mean, it was the most scary game ever!
Sorry for the fast forward and also cutscenes from start and from the end are missing, because i had to fit it in 10min.
Sorry for bad graphics, i did make sure the graphics are good, but uploading a 600mb to youtube, is like playing russian-roulette with semiautomatic pistol!
The minus in this game, is the problem of activating some stuff or grabbing them (with F button). It just doesn't do it, when you have a bad angle or something..
Still i recommend this game, because its very stimulating and you wont get so much bored, because of the scary gameplay... |

First of all, sorry for the slow gameplay, this was the very first shooting "mission" and at 2am it was bloody scary for me..
For short review i would say, that it was fun to shoot, but the storyline and level system is poor. Graphics are solid, kind of and music gets your heart pumping, just the spots you need it.
But, basically you will get scared a lot, so don't play it at night, you will have bit troubles to going sleep later.
So i don't know, its a weird game, because the levels are boring, but you wont get bored, because you are scared all the time..
Also the "monsters" are stupid, as you could see that in first 20sec and teammates say that the area is clear, then booooom a "monster" jumps out from next corner.. Brrr... Oh and when the pistol has right-click-aim, then the bigger gun, what actually has a scope, doesn't. - So it will just tighten up the crosshair.. Lame..
But i think if you have a low PC performance, then this game should fit for your needs.. |

Area 51 is a first-person shooter developed in tandem for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC(this is the PC version), and is loosely based on the 1996 light gun video game Area 51. Players control Ethan Cole, a HazMat operative voiced by David Duchovny sent to the infamous base to investigate some manner of viral outbreak.
Area 51 at first starts out with intense combat where the player has several AI teammates with him (ranging from two to seven most of the time) versus hordes of mutants. Notable among the voice actors are Marilyn Manson (as an ancient and powerful Grey), Powers Boothe (as Major Bridges), and Ian Abercrombie (as Dr. Cray). |
