Land Rover has revealed an exciting vision of its future with the LRX concept at the Detroit Motor Show.The three-door LRX is more compact, lighter and features sustainable technology. It addresses the needs of a changing world and offers the potential of 120 g/km CO2 emissions.
Shorter than the Freelander 2 / LR2 and 205 mm (8.1 in) lower, the LRX is conceived as using a 2.0-litre, turbodiesel hybrid, capable of running on bio-diesel. Combined with other technologies, this powertrain could reduce fuel consumption by as much as 30% compared with other comparable 4x4s.
The concept's integrated Electric Rear Axle Drive (ERAD) would allow LRX to use electric drive alone at lower speeds while retaining full and even improved 4x4 ability in tough conditions.
The Integrated Starter-Generator (ISG) function would stop the engine automatically when the vehicle halts in traffic, so the engine does not idle needlessly, and restart it quickly and smoothly as required.
LRX also incorporates Land Rover's acclaimed Terrain Response system, which optimises vehicle drivability and comfort, as well as maximising traction. On LRX, this includes a new and efficiency-focused 'Eco' mode.
LRX's novel design approaches would further improve efficiencies by reducing vehicle weight. These include exposed seat structures, roof and instrument panel as well as replacing the glass for the side windows and roof with SABIC Innovative Plastics polycarbonate, which is around 40% lighter. The polycarbonate also blocks virtually all UV light while special nano-technology within the material reduces infra-red transmission, helping to keep the interior cool.
Even the choice of premium-quality trim materials reflects Land Rover's deep thinking about sustainability, with vegetable-tanned leather, extensive use of aluminium, carpeting made of felt from sustainable sources and a 'fine suede' on the door inserts and headliner made from 100% recycled plastic bottles and fibres.

The national sales order for the first two week
rocket to 3211 even when the nation-wide sales network is not built up completely. Now the order volume is stable at the number of 300 for one day.
SAIC is third-biggest automobile manufacturer in China boasting 15 billion USD sales volume 1.5 million vehicles for 2006 and is one of the FORTUNE world's 500 companies. About the rover..... The rover was just built this semester as a robotic class project using all new parts and is in perfect working condition as you can see from the video. It includes 4 FM channel remote controller, a tank bot with dual servos drive, turret to for the camera, and wireless transmitter camera. It will come with all the extra batteries and accessories.
Video shows the rover at all angles and inside, how to set it up and operate the rover, rover in motion and video view from the rover camera.
