Here are some quick tips for powering up in River City Ransom! Begin with saving up as much cash as possible while staying alive (via visiting various food shops). Once you have saved up about $30 or so, you have two choices. You may buy one of the books available in the Flatirons Books store (at Flatirons Mall) - you'll want either the one that gives you three kicks per button press or the one that gives you three punches. Or, you can start working on your stats first. You'll want to do both, of course, before moving on to more advanced powerup strategies. For stats, I'd recommend building up willpower (donuts at Grotto Mall's Metro Bakery) and defense (egg rolls at Mao's Cafe in the Waterfront Mall). For kick and agility, check out Happy Feet Shoes at the Flatirons Mall. Also at the Flatirons Mall is Amy's Sweet Tooth for cheap stat boosts.
Once you're strong enough to fight the two boss characters shown in the beginning of this vid, defeat them repeatedly for easy cash. You'll want enough to stock up on Omni Elixirs at Jones' Pharmacy (Waterfront Mall) and expensive but very worth it stat boosters at Merlin's Mystery Shop (there's a secret door to it in the Armstrong Thru-way #2, about 3/4ths across the screen).

We knew them as Alex and Ryan from River City Ransom, but in Japan they were Kunio (white) from Nekketsu High and Riki (blue) from Hanazono High. These life-long rivals put aside their differences to spring Riki's girlfriend from Reihou High and beat the holy heck out of the various punks that got in their way.

Well, not really a speedrun, just a quick play through. The password I use at the beginning gives maxed stats, Texas boots, and all techniques. This was just a fun video, as you might notice by my goofing off at times, randomly fighting at times, etc. etc. I know I'm not the best, but whatever, the video is still cool.

Part 2 of the new run-thru series that gained 750 views.
Using a GBA emulator, I am playing an awesome little beat-em-up game caled River City Ransom EX, bit by bit. I record those bits and put them here for all to see. I use my own created character, Rale.
In this segment, Rale meets up with Roxy who gives him a brief scoop about Cyndi, Ryan's girlfriend, who is being held hostage by the Dragon Twins. He then faces off against the impoetic duo of Benny and Clyde. He ends up having a frantic showdown with the 'Dragons', a crazy gang known to hurl whatever is in their path. He makes his way to the warehouse, were he ends up beating the crap out of Rocko. Rocko leads Rale to Blade, the first of the 'Zombies', a quartet of strong bosses. Rale heads back to Sherman park and has a frenzic melee with Blade. After Rale defeats Blade, the movie ends.

Gomennasai! I would've finished this a month ago but I'm suffering severe computer problems. With that, it'll be a LONG time before I make any more LEGO animations.

You'll notice some scenes are jumpy. I guess this is God's way of telling me to get a new desk. But hey, I'll give myself an excuse: Alex/Kunio is just headbanging to the awesome Double Dragon theme. |

Woo! It's been a long time since I did a RCREx video. In this video I introduce one of my friends.
When I first started playing RCREx and got my character all beefed up, I thought I was the strongest character in the game. Well, I didn't realize how wrong I was until my friend, Ara, came along. I decided to make this into a little bit of a short story, just for fun. ;)
Anyway, Ara in paticular, doesn't have alot of special moves in his arsenal, but mainly because what he does have, hurts! His trademark is Nitro Port, but when he uses Torpedo - Combined with Skaterz - boy does it hurt! And he also has Rocketeers and Custom Fit, making him extremely tedious to take down because he moves so much!

Rale learns how skillful Toki must have been as he is used as a punching bag by Slick, Otis, and the Dragon Twins, losing for the very first time in the series. He comes back and he's mad, but to his disappointment Slick is the only one there the next time. They easily dispatch him, but Rale vows to come after Slick again and beat him and his puppets.

In the Western version, the plot follows high school students Alex and Ryan as they cross River City in an attempt to rescue River City High and Ryan's girlfriend Cyndi from the clutches of a villain called "Slick". Along the way, they battle with gangs of students and several minibosses.

This is probably the best Segment that you may see for a while. It's nine minutes long and the sound is perfectly in sync with the video.
In this segment, Rale finds out that the Dragons still have a score to settle with him because they face him again, rocks flying everywhere. He meets Moose again and royally bashes him in. He encounters "Flying Turk" and sends him flying over the subway. He beats up Mojo, which ends the movie.

Here we go again. Another ABC song, but this is one of the ones I ripped from a midi myself. The song is A Tough Fight from River City Ransom. I did a number of songs from RCR since they fit nicely into LotRO's allowed notation range. It's funny how many of the slower songs can pass for perfectly normal Middle Earth music.
Note how it lags a bit at the start, but fixes itself. Strangely enough, most every fast song does this, but it always seems to "catch up" as it plays.

Seanbaby says River City Ransom is, "Claimed by all non-retards to be the greatest game of all time(.)" He's not far off the mark. RCR is, on its surface, a beat-'em-up in the style of Double Dragon, except less serious and with more people yelling, "BARF!"
Plus, to keep yourself in one piece, you can shop at malls and eat stuff. Lots of it. I get hungry playing this game.
