I've just found a quite interesting video that shows Nokia N95 controlled by the hand gestures.
The core technology is based on the image processing and algorithms that utilize the phone camera together with user hand movements and translate them to commands that control the UI.
Although it is aimed for gaming it is fully capable to control anything, music player, gallery, actually limit of imagination is the only barrier to what this technology can do and it is even more promising the accelerometer based controlling. Tape used in video is a bit to thick.
Be very accurate and careful with the tape piece or else it wont stick to the plastic rail properly.
How to fix loose slider on a Nokia N95-8GB, it's a bit different/harder than fixing a regular N95.
This is probably the fifth time I do this and this mod seem to be very good. Same smooth slide without the annoying click on the left side of the screen.
Cons and pros.
+Removes the loose slider on right side.
+Easy to do.
+Does not require any special tools.
-May fracture the guarantee.
-It's possible to break something if not careful enough.
-It does not remove the very little looseness on the y axis.

Sorry if there was any bad knowledgeable. The very title is misleading. This is a simple Nokia N95, normal, equal to any other. The only weird thing is the video of this liquid which exposed the phone. There is no water in any way. A kind of gas, ultra fast to dry-erase any source of light, with the advantage of not damage electronic equipment. Very good to erase fires in offices, or on any other site that has much electronic equipment. It will also be very useful for cooling systems in Pc's. This liquid was presented at CeBit 2008. From now my sincere apologies ..

Previsouly I uploaded a video running TomTom on a Nokia 6680 side-by-side with TomTom running on a Nokia N95.

The conclusion was that TomTom on the N95 was awful.
Last night I discovered that if I remove all the POIs from the N95 map the performance increases. Here is a video showing yesterday's video running alongside a POI-free N95 TomTom (on the right).
So for all of you who do not rely on speed camera warnings (blast!), here's the short-term answer.
I'm sure TomTom will release a new version soon that has better performance on the N95 (bear in mind that the N95 is not yet on TomTom's compatibilty list) and also accommodates the built-in GPS receiver. |

The Nokia N95 is a GREAT phone, capable of video, GPS, VoIP... But before you buy on contract... ask if anything has been disabled! Some carriers give you the whole phone... and some do not.
To be sure, buy yours unlocked - eg, expansys.com or Nokia's online shop.

Background:
In June 2006 I got a Nokia N80 as an upgrade to my 6680. Imagine my disappointment when I found that TomTom ran on the N80 at such a low frame rate that I found it unusable. I sold the N80.
It is now June 2007 and I have received a Nokia N95 as an upgrade. Faster CPU, more memory, the bees knees.
I wasn't able to install TomTom right away because my N95 didn't come with a memory card, but while I was waiting for it to be delivered I tried out Nokia Maps and Google GMAPS. Both run superbly at a frame rate as smooth as you like.
As soon as the memory card (Sandisk Ultra II 2GB - didn't want slow memory to be an issue) arrived I got TomTom running on the N95 and...OH NO!!! It was worse than the N80!!!
Here's a video for you to see for yourselves.
Tech details:
Both phones were in Offline mode.
TomTom was the only app running.
6680 running TomTom 5.
N95 running TomTom 6.
Both displays have the same options.
6680 has a cheapo memory card.
N95 has a Sandisk Ultra II memory card.
If this is as good as TomTom gets on the N95 then I'll either get a refund on the TomTom 6 and sell my N95, or start using different sat nav software.

This is amazing, the feed shows exactly the same content as the YT homepage, I was so excited to try it out and see how it looks like in the practice. Imagine how excided I was when I realised that that Video Centre and YouTube supports progressive downloading which actually makes instant playback possible, in practice it means that you can enjoy video while the file downloading is still in progress.
But, when the euphoria and first sight impressions falls, the first thing you'll probably notice is the fact that video centre is based on the RSS feeds, actually its some kind of RSS reader for videos, you have to subscribe (few channels are already available; YT, Reuters, Rocket boom, Start cooking, Unicef, Tagesschau and more to come) to feed and than you can choose the videos from the list. Unfortunately, there are no more options, all you can do is to play one of offered videos or try to refresh list to get something new, but it seems that dreams of the full mobile YouTube access will remain just a dream.
Last but not the least, as far as I know we can expect some kind of the mobile version of YT site shortly and than it will be possible to search over the YT server. That new YouTube mobile version that supposed to be called YTM or YouTube Mobile and it will be accessible via the inbuilt Safari based web browser. This service will be able to shows videos in the popular AVC video format, and I hope allows to search over the YT servers as well.
Speaking of the YT RSS feed what I would like to see is the ability to subscribe to my account on YouTube and other services as well, so I'll able to watch my subscribed channels automatically instead of the YT global feed.
