At the L.A. show Mazda experienced this truth what it's one of a kind Nagare show car was damaged on the way to the show. Actually the night before the scheduled unveiling. The delivery truck driver noticed that the Nagare was shifting in the cargo bed. Spray guns worked all night and up to the moment of the late afternoon unveiling, so the presentation went off on schedule. Some journalists noticed the paint fumes, but Mazda admitted nothing. However, none of the press was allowed to get close to the Nagare and the new paint remained undamaged.--Jim Dunne

FRANKFURT, Germany — The midsize Mazda 6 enters its second generation with a clean, albeit evolutionary, exterior design. At today's 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Japanese automaker announced significant improvements to its Mazda 6 in nearly every important area, from size to performance.
Available in Europe once again as a sedan, hatchback and wagon, the new Mazda 6 is a bit taller and wider, with a longer wheelbase, which results in a roomier cabin and more stable ride. The cars are more slippery, too — the sedan and hatchback have a drag coefficient of 0.27 and the wagon, 0.28 — with better torsional rigidity. |

In order to realize "Sustainable Zoom-Zoom," Mazda unveiled their new Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid with their unique engine and fuel system to promote environmentally friendly driving.
The new Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid is equipped with a transverse hydrogen rotary engine, featuring Mazda's hydrogen/gasoline dual-fuel system. The hybrid system efficiently converts energy from hydrogen combustion to electricity and uses it to power the motor. When the driver hits the accelerator the engine and the motor synchronize and this promotes powerful and smooth driving performance.
The Mazda Premacy is equipped with a transverse hydrogen rotary engine which directly injects the hydrogen into the intake valve in a gaseous form and draws air from the side ports. The rotary engine is placed horizontally compared to its previous vertical position. This design made the port lightweight and greatly enhanced its fuel consumption.
The prototype Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid is planned to commence leasing in 2008. |

The Mazda Ryuga certainly had my attention at the North American International Auto Show. It's the second of four concept cars that Mazda plans to unveil during the 2007 auto show season. The car's rich color, sleek shape and salon-like interior embodies Japanese flow. Plus, it features earth-friendly environmental technologies and people-friendly safety technologies including an E85/Gasoline flex fuel engine which runs on sustainable bio fuel and Charge-Coupled Device cameras to eliminate blind spots while driving. During the show, I had got an introduction to the Ryuga from Laurens van den Acker, general manager of the design division for Mazda Motor Corporation. |
