Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is a top-down action adventure created by Silicon Knights and the first game in the Legacy of Kain series.
The game was first released November 15, 1996 for the PlayStation and Aug,1997 for the PC Version. A Saturn version was announced during production but later cancelled before release. In the game, the player takes the role of Kain, a nobleman who is murdered and given the chance for revenge by becoming a vampire. The game was praised for its great voice acting, moody atmosphere, and compelling storyline.
Major characters
Kain
The protagonist of Blood Omen. Kain was a nobleman who was murdered by unknown assassins. Mortanius the Necromancer resurrected him as a vampire so he would kill the Circle of Nine, never realizing his true destiny as Balance Guardian.
Mortanius the Necromancer
Mortanius is a powerful necromancer and the Death Guardian of the pillars. Mortanius was the one who arranged Kain's murder and resurrection. Mortanius wished for Kain to unearth his true destiny as the Scion of Balance. He knew his vampire son would kill him. Mortanius was being controlled by the Hylden Lord when he murdered Ariel. He is also a worshiper of the god Hash'ak'gik (really Turel).
Ariel of the Balance
Ariel was the Balance Guardian before Kain. She was murdered by Mortanius while he was possessed by the Hylden Lord. She kept Kain ignorant of his true destiny while she used him as the scourge of the Circle of Nine.
Oracle of Nosgoth/Moebius the Timestreamer
Moebius is the Time Guardian and Timestreamer. He used Kain to kill William the Just to ignite war against the vampires. He is also a worshiper of the Elder God. Moebius was the one who gave William the Soul Reaver. He tricked Kain by acting as the Oracle of Nosgoth.
Vorador
Vorador is the lord of the vampires and soon the last of the vampires except for Kain. He helps Kain defeat Malek and is murdered by Moebius's army.
Hylden Lord
The Hylden Lord is the leader of the Hylden and the one possessing Mortanius. He is seen in a demon form at the end of Blood Omen. He is seen in Blood Omen 2 as the main villain. Kain doesn't recognize him in Blood Omen 2.
Nemesis
The Nemesis is a warlord wanting to take over Nosgoth. At one time he was known as William the Just, but the power of the Soul Reaver had made him a power hungry tyrant.
King Ottmar
King Ottmar is the king of Willendorf the wealthiest city in all Nosgoth. Ottmar was at first shocked by how his daughter's soul was taken by Elzevir a doll maker in Nosgoth. After his daughter's soul had been returned he granted Kain a request. Ottmar granted Kain's request to send his troops against the Nemesis' army.

Malek is a video game character in the Legacy of Kain series. In Blood Omen he was voiced by Neil Ross, but in his appearance in Soul Reaver 2, his voice actor was uncredited. In the early stages of production, Malek was known as "Guillaume".
Malek was born roughly 500 years before the start of the first game as the Guardian of Conflict. When the Sarafan Order was created, Malek led the seven Sarafan Inquisitors. In battle, he wore full-plated armour, and was always armed with a pike. Malek was also proficient at wielding magic, and often did so when combating vampires. His helmet was adorned with a ponytail of vampires' hair, ripped from his victims' scalps. Alongside his six comrades, with the help of Moebius the Timestreamer, Malek led the Sarafan to many glorious victories against the vampires. His special duties consisted of defending the Circle of Nine against outside attack. When Vorador slew six members of the Circle in retribution for the death of Janos Audron, Malek confronted and was defeated by the powerful vampire.
As punishment for failing the Circle, Moebius and Mortanius arranged a devious punishment. Using his powers over life and death, Mortanius tore the soul from Malek's body and fused it to his armour. Though his body ceased to live, Malek's soul was still bound to a corporeal being, and he was thus damned to eternal unlife in the service of the Guardians.
500 years later, during Kain's quest to destroy the corrupted Circle of Nine, the young vampire confronted Malek in his mountaintop bastion. Their battle ended in a stalemate, with Kain forced to escape the crumbling keep from the Paladin's vampire-slaying magics. Kain sought out Vorador in the hopes that the elderly vampire could tell him how to defeat Malek. Vorador gave the fledgling no direct information, but he did give Kain his signet ring, which Kain could use to summon Vorador to his side in times of serious peril.
Soon afterwards, when Kain confronted Dejoule,Bane and Anacrothe in Dark Eden, Anacrothe summoned Malek before escaping. Kain, in response, used the signet ring to summon Vorador, and as Kain chased after the fleeing Dejoule and Bane, Vorador and Malek dueled. This confrontation led to Malek's second and final death. Because of the help he received from Vorador, Malek was the fourth Circle member killed on Kain's journey.
Malek is mentioned in Soul Reaver. His name is interred above one of the seven sarcophagi alongside the names of his former six brothers-in-arms. Malek was the only one of the seven Inquisitors who was not raised by Kain, obviously because there was no corpse to reanimate.
In Soul Reaver 2, it is explained why Malek didn't get to the six guardians in time. While he and Moebius were trying to get Raziel to pick up the Blood Reaver, the three heard the screams of the council members, as well as Vorador's taunts. Despite this, Moebius did not allow Malek to leave until Raziel picked up the Blood Reaver. It was Moebius' fault that Malek couldn't protect the Circle. |

OVERVIEW
The second chapter in the Legacy of Kain series is very different in terms of gameplay to the first. It is less of a role-playing game, and fits better into the action-adventure category. Upon its release, the truly 3D Soul Reaver was critically acclaimed for having such a large, non-linear world to explore, no intrusive loading time between levels, excellent graphics, and the same great voice acting as its predecessor.
The player takes control of Raziel, the first-born vampire lieutenant of Kain. Many centuries after the events of Blood Omen, Kain has set himself up as the emperor of Nosgoth, and the land's health is deteriorating. Raziel is faithful and loyal to his master, until one awful day.
Raziel grows wings, surpassing Kain's own vampiric evolution. This is seen as a huge transgression, and Kain's response to it is to have Raziel thrown into the 'Lake of the Dead'. There he would burn forever in the swirling water of the Abyss, as water hurts Nosgothic vampires like strong acid hurts humans.
Somehow, Raziel survives this execution. At the bottom of the Abyss, he meets the Elder God, a being who claims to have spared Raziel from total destruction. Raziel is no longer a vampire, but a skeletal-looking wraith, and his blood-thirst has been replaced by a hunger for souls. The Elder God offers Raziel the same opportunity that Mortanius offered Kain so long before - the chance for vengeance against those who have wronged him.

The title really says most, but this is just an attempt at survival at the beginning of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, death can't be avoided but it's fun to go out flailing sharp, cold iron. Yes, I was bored. I wasn't satisfied with the duration of the slaughter, but it'll suffice.
It was played on ePSXe, with a genuine PS game CD, you can find information on where to download everything you need to use the emulator on my Channel.
HyperCam wouldn't pick up any sound, hence the custom music. Yet somehow I feel my saying that won't stop questions.
