FS2004 flight into Glacier Creek, Alaska ICAO: KGZ Description=Cessna's Model 305 was developed from the Model 170 as a private venture which, in 1950, was chosen as the new standard liason and observation aircraft for the US Army, which named it the L-19. The US military designation was changed to O-1 in 1962. This FS aircraft represents a civilianized L-19E (Model 305C).

From the hangar in Fredericksburg, TX which houses one of my father's planes. The L-19 Birddog, like most of my dad's projects, is usually under restoration. You can see that the wings are off for repainting in this movie. The tug came from the Santa Anita race track in Los Angeles, I believe. The kids love driving it and it is always the highlight of trips to see their Grandpa. It has three forward gears. I've never seen it actually used to move the plane.
