Is it possible for a front-wheel-drive car to compete in the largely rear-drive premium performance sedan category? Absolutely, according to Acura, and America seems to agree, making the TL a top selling luxury sedan and Acura's most popular model.
In an attempt to meet the divergent needs of luxury sedan owners, the Acura TL comes in two distinct flavors. Those most interested in comfort can choose the regular TL while the Type-S meets the needs of drivers who want a higher level of driving excitement. With its all-new Megatron-faced 2007 MDX, Acura wants the MDX to be mentioned in the same breath as the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5. Doing so required the new MDX to be a much hotter tamale than the lame-duck MDX in nearly every way, so Acura endowed the 2007 model with a formidable dynamic repertoire. Effectively negotiating the opposing tables of performance, utility and comfort is a delicate balancing act that the smarter, buffer MDX pulls off convincingly. |

Well, if you consider a giant new piece of chrome on the grille something special, then the 2009 Acura RL is your kind of luxury sedan. Of course, there's more than just chrome up front. The grille has been updated with Acura's "power plenum" design and the aluminum hood is now "blow-formed" to assure its almost perfectly flat shape. There are five new exterior colors as well. |

This is an overview of the new Acura MDX's interior and exhaust (this isn't my car, it was a service loaner and i posted this video because there wasn't many videos of the new mdx) If your looking for a mid-sized suv i would recommend this over the RX,GX,EX,FX,X5,X3,Q7,ML,LR3, etc. (read car & drivers comparison of 50k suv's) i own a mdx and it very nice and i have had it for a couple of years and have had no problems with it and i expect this 2008 one to be even better, visit your local Acura dealer to see one for your self because compared to the competition it gives you a lot for you money and wins hands down. |

If you have been considering installing a hitch on your MDX for a trailer, bike rack or cargo carrier we will show you how easy it is. Some may back off when they see the instructions call for lowering the exhaust and removing the heat shield. You can do this! The video will show you how and you will save so much money doing this on your own.
The first thing we want to do that will help the install is lower the spare tire. Next we need to lower the exhaust and take off this heat shield too. These both go back up when we are done, but we need room to slip up the hitch so it will go up on the side of the frame here and mount in these four holes. At this point we will start removing the exhaust brackets and then we will move on to the heat shield. This is pretty flexible, we can move this out of our way a little bit to give us more working room. We have this side finished, now we will repeat for the other side.
Our next will be to basically install the hitch, and it would be a good thing to have an extra set of hands to help out with the lifting. We have the hitch mounted by these bolts here, it is a real super tight fit, and these plates are kind of bowed in a little bit. This is for good reason as they are bowed to fit in the car. Once you tighten everything down, these plates will fit solid against the frame. We have the one side loosely installed, now we will go over the other side and do the same thing. Now we can give them their final torque. Now that we have the hitch installed, we can re-install the heat shield. Now we can re-install the exhaust to its brackets. The last thing we need to do is put the spare tire back up and that will complete our install of our hitch. That concludes our install of part # V82111 on our 2007 Acura MDX.

Since its introduction in 2001 the Acura MDX has received acclaim for its comfortable ride, respectable off-pavement capability and manageable size, while the criticism revolved around its generic styling. For the second-generation MDX, Acura kicked the styling up a notch while at the same time improving on-road performance with forward-thinking technology.

After the pretty unfinished concept Acura displayed at the L.A. Motor Show, we were expecting a very refined and finished model to be shown at the Detroit show, especially since competitor Lexus did show a refined and finished model.
Sadly, the slated successor to the renowned NSX was not any more finished than the rough L.A. Advanced Sedan concept. Not exactly helping its case were the claims by the designers that this really was the way they would like to see Honda/Acura build the successor to the Ayrton Senna developed mid-engine super sports car, by this front engined-rear wheel driven package layout. Hardly something a passionate car enthusiast would have dreamed up.
