The Alouette III have proven especially efficient in personnel transport as well as being able to transport external loads with the use of carrier nets. These helicopters are able to lift large amounts of water, and can be used in combating forest fires. With the aid of a fixed winch the Alouette can also conduct air-rescues in the Alpines regions.

Push the limit.. (MUST SEE)
Time :

The Swiss Air Force (Schweizer Luftwaffe, Forces aériennes suisses, Forze Aeree Svizzere) is the air component of the Swiss Armed Forces. It was established on July 31, 1914 but did not become a separate service until 1936. During World War II, it defended Swiss airspace against incursions by both Allied and Axis aircraft, shooting down aircraft from both sides of the conflict.[citation needed] A report in the Swiss news magazine FACTS reveals that the Swiss Air Force only provides ready-to-take-off aircraft during office hours -- on working days. The air force staff declared that, due to financial limits, they are not operational all the time. The difficulty of defending Swiss airspace is illustrated by the small size of the country; the maximum extension of Switzerland is 348 km, a distance that can be flown in little over 20 minutes by commercial aircraft. Further, Switzerland's policy of neutrality means that they are unlikely to be deployed elsewhere. Its primary front-line air-defence fleet consists of 33 F-18 Hornets (Squadrons: 11, 17, 18. 34 were originally bought, but one crashed) and 54 remaining F-5 Tiger IIs (110 were originally purchased). In 2010 the Swiss Air Force intends to begin the retirement of the F-5 in the three squadrons (Patrouille Suisse, 8th, 19th) that use it and hopes to acquire a New Warplane/Neues Kampfflugzeug (NFK) as replacement. As with the earlier F/A-18 procurement conducted in the late 1990s, this is expected to prove a politically fraught procurement due to Switzerland`s socialist, anti-army and green groups, which are all opposed to such purchases. The Patrouille Suisse will need to change to a new aircraft, either the F/A-18 Hornet or the new fighter. Although they are likely to acquire the new F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, other 4.5 generation fighter planes such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale and the Saab Gripen are being considered. In 2011 the Swiss Air Force will also be retiring its venerable fleet of 60 Aérospatiale Alouette III, which will be replaced by Eurocopter EC-635s. The national aerobatic demonstration team of Swiss Air Force is the Patrouille Suisse, which flies the F-5 Tiger II aircraft. The Swiss Air Force has nine air bases, the most important of these being Payerne, in western Switzerland. The others are the helicopter base at Alpnach, a dormant base at Buochs and several other bases at Bern, Dübendorf, Emmen, Meiringen, Sion and Locarno. However, the air force closed Mollis by January 2007, and Alpnach will be reduced in size. OLD INDIAN NAVY AIRCRAFT....
Time :

OLD INDIAN NAVY AIRCRAFT.... INDIAN ARMY WAS ALREADY BUYING AIRCRAFT AND GETTING AIRBORNE WHILE THE PAKIS WERE SAVIN UP TO BUY SHIPS..... The Naval Air Arm formally took birth with the commissioning of INS Garuda, a naval air station based at Kochi on 11 May 1953. A little earlier, on 04 February 1953, the first Indian Naval Aircraft - the Short Sealand [IN101] - landed at Kochi. IN101 joined the Fleet Requirement Unit, which later became the first Indian Naval Air Squadron - INAS 550 - on 17 June 1959. The aircraft carrier Vikrant arrived in 1961, with her squadrons of British Sea Hawk jets, French Alizé ASW aircraft and French Alouette III helicopters. The Vikrant would over time prove her worth in the Goa Liberation of 1961 and in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. The Navy has since set up a number of air stations along India's maritime borders and various aircraft, covering all dimensions of naval warfare, have been inducted. With the commissioning of a second aircraft carrier, INS Viraat, the Indian Navy adding more punch to her air power. This air power at sea is backed by state-of-the-art maintenance & logistics facilities in naval aircraft yards at Kochi and Goa, and with smaller facilities at the various naval air stations. The Naval Air Arm completed 50 glorious years in the service of the nation on 11 May 2003. Over the years, this arm of the Indian Navy has grown into a multi faceted force, fully equipped to meet the challenges of protecting our maritime boundaries and the assets of the nation at sea. Rhodesian Fire Forces: World's Most Combat Jumps
Time :
2 : 55
Who has the world's most combat jumps? U.S. Army Airborne? Nope. Brits? Nope. Russians? Nope. Germans? Sorry, germanophiles, not even close. French? good guess; they have the 2nd most combat jumps. Want to know who has the most combat jumps so far in world history? The Rhodesians. http://www.combatreform.com/paratrooper.htm The Rhodesians created an ingenious "Fire Force" system during their sub-national conflict (SNC) against communist rebels and outside mercenaries. The Rhodesian FIRE FORCES have done more combat jumps than anybody else at the small-unit, tactical level of war; sometimes they would jump 3 TIMES IN A DAY! Professor J.R.T. Wood's excellent report on the Rhodesian Fire Forces (RFFs): http://selousscouts.tripod.com/fire_force__part_one.htm The RFFs would have small "Killer Bees": Alouette III scout helicopters forward deployed with fuel caches and fixed-wing Cessna Model 337 Lynxes (USAF: O-2 Skymasters) scour the countryside for the enemy with Selous scouts on the ground hunting the "terrs" with tracker skills; Tracking Blog http://www.breachbangclear.blogspot.com/ http://selousscouts.tripod.com/combat_tracking_techniques.htm U.S. Army Tracking School http://www.universityofmilitaryintelligence.us/functional_courses/ctc/default.asp Civil-Military Tracker Courses http://www.tacticaltracking.com/site/ http://www.onpointtactical.com/enroll.aspx?id=5 ...and when they found the enemy, the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) Paratroopers would jump in by C-47 Dakotas, surround and finish off the terrorists with the help of CAS Hunter, Canberra fighter-bomber or SF-260 light attack aircraft strikes. Professor Wood elaborates: http://selousscouts.tripod.com/fire_force__part_two.htm "By 1977 ALL regular infantry were trained paratroops and would in turn be deployed by either helicopter or parachute" This puts our cocky light infantry to shame: the 101st Air Assault, 10th Mountain and 25th Tropic Lightnings are not jump-qualified though they need to be ASAP--so they can be deployed without need of airlanding runways for Army C-27Js, USAF C-130s, C-17s. http://www.combatreform.com/airdropbeatsairland.htm Don't even bring up the simpleton USMC who has a Congressional order to parachute jump that they have ignored since 1947 because they instead want clusterfucks of blind obedience, lemmings to order around; not self-reliant, THINKING Paratroopers or egalitarian, Carlson's Raiders; marines are snob-incompetents unsuited for fluid, rapidly-changing, non-linear Airborne warfare situations. http://www.geocities.com/airbornemuseum/sld026.htm RRF tactics are EXACTLY what we should be doing in Iraq/Afghanistan--but for all our more-Airborne-than-thou-art, chest-beating crap, the fact is Americans are LAZY and don't want to do the extra work to earn SURPRISE on the enemy by 3D maneuver vertical airdrop landings from out-of-earshot fixed-wing aircraft; we want to ride in comfy wheeled trucks along roads sallying forth from comfortable FOBs kicking up dust visible for miles or ride on our asses in noisy helicopters and then foot-slog with 100 pounds of "lightweight" equipment and then wonder why the rebels are long gone and not around to gunplay? A smart SNC air-mech force would use the Rhodesian Fire Force system and airdrop M113 Gavin light tracked AFVs to cross-country transport Paras and recover parachutes and air items for re-use at the end of the QRF mission. Want to know more about 3D Airborne Maneuver Warfare? Our book, "Air-Mech-Strike: Asymmetric Maneuver Warfare for the 21st Century" is ONLINE for FREE skyjacked by Google! http://books.google.com/books?id=RCWtHnYZ0LMC&pg Special thanks to Msasa Enterprises for compiling this rare footage! http://www.rhodesianvideos.mazoe.com

Merlin EH-101
Time :
