"Ono" is the story of 22-year-old Eva (Małgosia Bela) a pregnant young woman with an unfulfilling, underpaid job. Her boyfriend has left her, but as she loves life, she decides against an abortion and begins to share her lust for life with her unborn child, to whom she begins to describe the world, using words, music and other sounds...
Director Małgorzata Szumowska and leading actress Małgosia Bela presented the movie in a very charming way. They were helped by German producer Raimond Goebel and by Wieland Speck, director of the Panorama section.
Małgorzata Szumowska was born in Kraców in 1973, and "Ono" was her second feature film. Since then she has directed two further movies.
Małgosia Bela (Kraców, 1977) became world-famous as a model and worked in New York and Italy. In "Ono" she starred for the first time in a movie. Later on she took acting classes in the New York Actors Studio and got a leading role in "Karol, un uomo diventato Papa", a movie about the life of pope John Paul II.

Arkadius Night at Warsaw's Lazienki Park,
has taken in June 2001.
It was a unique event produced and sponsored
by TVP1 with huge support of other companies
such as: Bols, Elle, Loreal, Helena Rubinstein,
Jaguar, British Airways and The British Council.
The show presented designs, which had their
world's premiere at London Fashion Week
in February 2001.
This Warsaw show had a unique touch -
- a specially designed collection inspired
by an ancient Slavonic rite of Midsummer Night.
And of course, beautiful Polish internationaly
renowned models, led by supermodel - Malgosia Bela.
Arkadius' spectacular designs, specially composed
music and original lighting created an unforgettable
experience watched by over 1000 VIP guests from
Poland and abroad. |
