This song, I've been told, was written for Olivia Harrison, but I have read that was written about pattie in 1969 (only some verses as you can notice on the demo) and it was finished in 1976 when George was already married to Olivia.. so it maybe was about Pattie at the beginnig but it was unfinish, and and the Olivia inspired George to finish it, who knows =) |

Biography:
Patricia Anne "Pattie" Boyd (born 17 March 1944) is an English model
and photographer who is best known as the wife of first George Harrison
and then Eric Clapton. She served as inspiration for several monumental
rock love songs written by both musicians.
Born in Taunton, Somerset, Boyd was a model during the 1960s. She was
known to frequent trendy clubs as well as the company of the
era-defining designers Mary Quant and Ossie Clark. She was photographed
by popular fashion photographers of the day, such as David Bailey and
Terence Donovan, and appeared on covers of magazines, including the UK
and Italian editions of Vogue. After she became the girlfriend of
Harrison, her stature increased as she was asked by Gloria Stavers to
write a regular column for 16 Magazine.
After their meeting on the set of A Hard Day's Night, Boyd married
George Harrison on January 21, 1966, in the midst of the heyday of his
group, The Beatles. Harrison's friend Eric Clapton, first of The
Yardbirds, then of Cream, also fell in love with her. Pattie went on to
divorce Harrison on June 9, 1977, and later married Clapton on March 27,
1979. She and Clapton divorced in June 1988. Pattie speaks with Shadoe
from London.

Helen Mary Boyd (born 8 November 1947 in Guildford, Surrey, England) was a 1960s London fashion model; she is the younger sister of Pattie Boyd, who married Beatle George Harrison.
She was given the nickname 'Jenny' as an infant by sister Pattie, after her favourite doll. She dated folk-rock singer Donovan, who wrote "Jennifer Juniper" about her. Later she shared an apartment with Magic Alex of Apple Corps' Apple Electronics subdivision. She also worked at the Apple Boutique in London.
She married Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood on June 12, 1970 and they had two daughters: Amy Rose and Lucy. After divorcing Fleetwood (and remarrying and redivorcing him), Jenny eventually married drummer Ian Wallace (formerly of King Crimson). She attended UCLA in the late 1980s and earned a Ph.D. in psychology, and became a clinical consultant and author. She co-authored a book about music and psychology, titled Musicians in Tune.
She traveled with the Beatles and sister Pattie Boyd on their famous trip to India in early 1968.

From the Bel Canto Opera production of The Magic Flute, Monostatos, a woad-painted Celt in ancient Britain, sings of his lust for the sleeping Pamina:
MONOSTATOS: Like a satyr I am lusting
This fair maiden makes me so.
Though she finds my face disgusting
just because it's blue, you know,
Woad is me, I'm indigo!
I'm a Celt...blue is our fashion.
She would spurn me if we kissed,
she's determined to resist,
she rejects my manly passion
cause she's colour prejudiced...
Blue and white should co-exist,
but she's colour prejudiced!
Oh, indeed I'm so excited...I don't need her to concur,
though I think she'll be delighted by the pleasures I'll confer,
I've so much to offer her!
I'm a Celt...a natural lover...
I don't need no serenade
to arouse or to persuade,
Once I've had her, she'll discoverI'm lover, senior grade!
I'm a paramour by trade!
She's a very lucky maid!

Joe asked me to sing at a reading/concert featuring music from and related to his production work in the 1960's. I asked the students in the class I'm teaching at Wesleyan ("Northern Roots Music Collective") if they wanted to come help me out, and I was really happy that about half the class was able to make it. Also singing with us were my buddy Paul from MN, Aldo from NYC and several people none of us had seen before. I love it when there are random self selected people on stage- reminds me of 1983.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCH5f2daSSM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIhE50TVB_Afeature=related
The "Northern Roots Music Collective" owes at least part of its existence to a comment Joe made in Pitchfork when he mentioned how unusual it was that I was interested in old music from New England because in American roots music, if it's not from the South "it's like it doesn't exist."
Other folks on the gig included Vashti Bunyan, Jenni Muldaur and I was happy to see Bob Neuwirth whom I hadn't seen since the Great High Mountain Tour (and to see Joe of course.) In typical fashion we sang outside for a while after the gig. I got home around 4 which wasn't bad considering.
I made this arrangement in 1995 based on a New England "Sea Song" I knew from my grandfather's copy of "Heart Songs." People call the story all kinds of things-"A Sailor's Life," "Sweet William" etc.
If you're wondering about the eye patch, Joe said it's temporary (though fetching...) |

If you're suffering from anxiety or panic attacks, and you can relate to the following process of "FREE-FALL", then our step-by-step training DVD is going to make all the difference.
FREE-FALL! You're walking down the road thinking about something OTHER than your problem and feeling ok.
Suddenly, as if from nowhere, a reminder of the worst aspects of your problem bursts onto your conscious mind. It's like a voice in the back of your mind has just asked, "IS THIS PARTICULAR INFORMATION (regarding your problem) STILL A THREAT TO YOU?!"
Your immediate mental reply to this question is "Yes! It really is!"
You then experience a sinking feeling. This sinking feeling occurs as blood is re-directed away from your stomach and sent to your muscles. This happens to help you to TAKE FLIGHT from the "perceived" danger that your problem represents, yet again.
To compensate for this sinking feeling you begin to take slightly deeper breaths and your face adopts an anxious expression.
That "voice" in the back of your mind then probes you again and basically asks:
"IS THERE ANY HOPE THAT THIS INFORMATION (about your problem) IS NOT A THREAT?"
Your growing distress tells it: "THERE IS NO HOPE WHAT-SO-EVER!"
It is at this point that your "FIGHT OR FLIGHT" response is fully activated and your body is flooded with anxiety causing adrenaline. You're in "FREE-FALL!" regarding your problem, yet again.
Without on-the-spot prevention of the above spiralling process, it can continue to re-occur for months or years. This is the only reason you continue to feel anxious or panicked about a particular issue or situation for months or years.
If what you've just read rings true, then T.W.S. can provide you with the ON-THE-SPOT skills you need to stop these dreadful spirals into anxiety from happening. VIEW THE TRAILER (TOP RIGHT) TO DISCOVER HOW.
Since 2001, the Trip-Wire Solution has only been available to those who have been able to visit our clinic in Central London. The fee for the course of 6 sessions with Boyd Brent is approx. $775 (depending on exchange rates). Call, 0208 336 5880 for booking information.
Alternatively, the same skills are taught in a simple step-by-step fashion on this DVD, meaning you can learn them at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home.
(We have chosen to make this DVD available exclusively through CustomFlix (who are owned by Amazon) because of their reputation for reliability and strict security protocols regarding Internet transactions).
This DVD will provide the skills necessary to overcome the anxiety associated with the following:
Self-Image
Post Traumatic Stress
Panic attacks
Air travel
Losing Control
Finances
Phobias
Relationship Breakdown
Failure
Health Issues
Hypochondria
Grief
Work
Jealousy
Or ANYTHING ELSE that triggers feelings of anxiety or panic. |

Images and photos from my Ebay ABOUT ME page ( Ebay member ) - dionarch -
dionarch is against all animal fur sold on Ebay
Some text from Ebay About Me page:
This 'About Me' page was properly developed in November 2007 and is inspired by the record 'What You Waiting For' by Gwen Stefani. Also the video directed by Francis Lawrence. The title 'As The World Falls Down' is from a David Bowie record from the film Labyrinth. The video 'Confide In Me' for Kylie Minogue directed by Paul Boyd and the video 'Express Yourself' directed by David Fincher also are influences.
Thank you.
I have always had the 'About Me' page since I was a Ebay member - November 2005. Both my parents are connected with the last two of the original Star Wars films so the page was about my childhood meeting the actors and visiting the sets, meeting my father at work. I had a mention of animal welfare also. The page really developed in November 2007. The 'About Me' page is inspired by the record 'What You Waiting For' by Gwen Stefani. |

LONDON (AP) -- Richard Wright, a founding member of Pink Floyd, died Monday. He was 65.
The rock group's spokesman, Doug Wright, who's unrelated, said Wright died after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. He said the band member's family did not want to give more details about his death.
Wright met Pink Floyd members Roger Waters and Nick Mason in college and joined their early band, Sigma 6. Along with the late Syd Barrett, the four formed Pink Floyd in 1965.
The group's jazz-infused rock and drug-laced multimedia ''happenings'' made them darlings of the London psychedelic scene, and their 1967 album, ''The Piper at the Gates of Dawn,'' was a hit.
In the early days of Pink Floyd, Wright, along with Barrett, was seen as the group's dominant musical force. The London-born musician and son of a biochemist wrote songs and played the keyboard.
''Rick's keyboards were an integral part of the Pink Floyd sound,'' said Joe Boyd, a prominent record producer who worked with Pink Floyd early in its career.
The band released a series of commercially and critically successful albums including 1973's ''The Dark Side of the Moon,'' which has sold more than 40 million copies. Wright wrote ''The Great Gig in the Sky'' and ''Us and Them'' for that album, and worked on the group's epic compositions such as ''Atom Heart Mother,'' ''Echoes'' and ''Shine on You Crazy Diamond.''
But tensions grew among Waters, Wright and fellow band member David Gilmour. The tensions came to a head during the making of ''The Wall'' when Waters insisted Wright be fired. As a result, Wright was relegated to the status of session musician on the tour of ''The Wall,'' and did not perform on Pink Floyd's 1983 album, ''The Final Cut.''
Wright formed a new band Zee with Dave Harris from the band Fashion, and released one album, ''Identity,'' with Atlantic Records.
Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985 and Wright began recording with Mason and Gilmour again, releasing the albums ''The Division Bell'' and ''A Momentary Lapse of Reason'' as Pink Floyd. Wright also released the solo albums ''Wet Dream'' (1978) and ''Broken China'' (1996).
In July 2005, Wright, Waters, Mason and Gilmour reunited to perform at the ''Live 8'' charity concert in London -- the first time in 25 years they had been onstage together.
Wright also worked on Gilmour's solo projects, most recently playing on the 2006 album ''On an Island'' and the accompanying world tour.
Gilmour paid tribute to Wright on Monday, saying his input was often forgotten.
''He was gentle, unassuming and private but his soulful voice and playing were vital, magical components of our most recognized Pink Floyd sound,'' he said. ''I have never played with anyone quite like him.'' |

From the streets of New York to international stardom...
Joe Dallesandro:
Born December 31, 1948, in Pensacola, FL - USA
Leading actor Joe Dallesandro gained more than his 15 minutes of fame in the 1960s and 1970s thanks to his presence in the experimental films of Andy Warhol. Most often cast as androgynous characters, Dallesandro was the star of the Warhol/Paul Morrissey trilogy Flesh, Trash, and Heat, and later played the title roles in the selfsame production team's Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein for which Dallesandro was praised by the cognoscenti for his "naturalistic" performances. After making his "mainstream" debut in The Gardener, he worked extensively in Europe. He made fleeting appearances as Lucky Luciano in Coppola's The Cotton Club (1984) and as the father of Darren E. Burrows in John Waters' Cry-Baby (1991). Dallesandro has also been prominently featured in such TV weeklies of the 1980s as Fortune Dane, Wiseguy, and The Hollywood Detective. One of the most anticipated feature film premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival this year is Battle In Seattle starring Charlize Theron and Woody Harrelson. I caught up to Mr. Harrelson just as he was leaving the press conference to promote the film. Woody wasn't in a very talkative mood (surprising, considering he just came out of an hour long press conference where he was continually talking) I did mention that my celebrity photographer uncle Firooz Zahedi does say Hi. Firooz has shot Mr. Harrelson on several occasions. Keep watching KavyonTV.com for a very special interview with my uncle Firooz coming soon. And keep watching for more of my Red Carpet reports from the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival.
Woodrow Tracy "Woody" Harrelson (born July 23, 1961) is an American Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor. He is probably best known for his role in the classic sitcom Cheers, as Woody Boyd. Notable film roles include, Mickey Knox in Natural Born Killers, Larry Flynt in The People vs. Larry Flynt, Dusty in A Prairie Home Companion and Carson Wells in No Country For Old Men.
